Educating & Empowering Women is What We Do

Did you know that women represent 57% of the American workforce?

In December 2014, the U.S. Census Bureau projected our population to reach 320.09 million on January 1, 2015, a 0.73 percent increase from the previous year. Of the 182.40 million women, 7.8 million women own businesses nationwide.

According to the Census Bureau, 2007 Survey of Business Owners, the combined number of reported women-owned business in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 315,136. This represents 60% of all registered small businesses in the Inland Empire.

Riverside County Population                2,329,271 (2014)

San Bernardino County Population      2,112,619 (2014)

Riverside County            163,248     30.4% woman-owned

San Bernardino County  151,888     30.6% woman-owned

This number exceeds the population of several IE cities! These include the cities of Corona 159,503; Moreno Valley 201,175; Murrieta 107,479; Ontario 167,500; Yucaipa 52536, and neck-and-neck with Riverside with a population of 316,619.

Yet, even with these great numbers, women are still considered a minority group and women who work in the corporate world, even at the top Forbes 500 and 100 levels, are still being paid less than their male counterparts.

The Power of W - California focuses on IE women who own and operate, or aspire to own and operate, businesses throughout the region. Every woman has her story.

One day the "future" is here. And when this

happens, most Americans find themselves

caught unaware and unprepared.

Why do we educate women? Because although women control two-thirds of the nation's wealth (approximately $14 trillion), the poverty rate among women older than 65 reached 11.6% in 2013. Elderly women accounted for two-thirds of the elderly poor.

This is unacceptable.

Our mission is to inform women about business and financial concepts and how to apply these concepts to achieve their own personal and business goals.

Most of us - men and women- are not taught how to make a plan, manage debt, save and grow our money, protect ourselves, our family and our business, financially. We are not taught to think long-term, the importance of planning for the future, and striving to become financially independent.

The Power of W - California, is a women's empowerment initiative with a mission to educate and promote awareness of basic financial concepts that lead to financial independence, reduce poverty, and raise the quality of life for women, their families and their communities. ~

The Power of W - California is a Women's  Business & Financial Empowerment Initiative to educate and coach women, women-owned small business owners, women-founded nonprofit organizations and returning women veterans, to build a solid business and financial foundation and raise the quality of life for themselves, their families, their businesses, and their futures.

Do You Know

We empower entrepreneurs and small business owners, young women in college looking towards their future, returning female soldiers re-adjusting to being home, survivors of divorce and domestic violence who are seeking to become financially stable, women in underserved communities, women who are stay-at-home moms, or rejoining the workforce after rearing a family, mature women who are retiring from one life and seeking to start a new adventure, a new phase in their life, woman establishing nonprofit entities to help other women - the list goes on and on.
